Find Out If You’re Infected and What to Do About It

Apple computer users may think they have nothing to worry about when it comes to contracting viruses and malware online, but a Russian antivirus company is reporting that 600,000 Macs are currently infected with a nasty trojan horse virus called “Flashback.”

Doctor Web issued a report on Wednesday that said 550,000 computers with Mac OSX have picked up the virus. An analyst at Doctor Web later sent a tweet noting that 600,000 Mac computers have actually been infected and some — about 274 — are actually based in the same city as Apple’s headquarters, Cupertino, Calif. About 57% of the infected Macs are said to be in the U.S. and 20% are based in Canada.

I want my old Facebook layout back

Not sure if this is something which has been very irritating for you all but it’s definitely something I don’t really “dig” being a Facebook user. This new “Timeline” revamp tweak doesn’t really do it for me and I believe each user should be able to vote before new Facebook layouts are released.

OS X Lion

So we have another animal about, 10.7 Lion operating system. Mac OS X Lion has been downloaded more than one million times in its first day of release which is quite impressive. Lion is the first Mac OS X release to be available exclusively through the Mac App Store, really love this idea as I don’t have to travel to Westfield or Oxford Street Apple store or even order online, nice touch!

There are a number of changes made to the GUI (Graphical User Interface) which include the Launchpad (similar to the home screen of iOS devices), auto-hiding scrollbars that only appear when they are being used, and Mission Control, which unifies Exposé, Spaces, Dashboard, and full-screen applications within a single interface.Apple also made changes to the applications: they resume in the same state as they were before they were closed (similar to iOS). In addition to this, documents auto-save by default so users don’t have to worry about manually managing their documents which is definitely very helpful.
