The challenge.
UK Payments Initiative brings banks, payment providers, merchants and regulators together around a new way to take repeat payments directly from bank accounts. Its audience ranges from prospective members and policymakers to the businesses and press following the scheme's progress.
The initiative needed a website that could explain commercial VRP in plain English, give the scheme the credibility of established payments infrastructure, and grow with it as rulebooks, consultations and news were published.
The result.
Credible, plain-English and built to grow
We designed and built a custom WordPress theme from a static prototype, with a confident purple identity, a clear account of how the scheme works and a dedicated home for everything members need, from the operating manual and versioned specifications to working groups and consultations.
Twenty-two custom editor blocks let the team update every page themselves, while news articles can carry rulebooks and technical documents alongside the story. A plain-English editor guide came with the handover, so publishing never depends on a developer.
